Tom Solomon


Tom studied at The Birmingham Conservatoire and the RAM where he gained his qualifications: BMus; PGdip; LRAM. He was later awarded an Honorary award (HonBC) by the Birmingham Conservatoire, for outstanding achievement.

Tom has recently created the role of William Hogarth in a new commission by the Royal Opera House called PLEASURES PROGRESS, being performed at The Linbury Theatre, ROH.


In February 2010 he made his New York debut, performing the roles of The Moon and the King of the East in the Royal Opera House production of THE ENCHANTED PIG at The New Victory Theatre, 42nd Street, after a successful London run in the West End at The Linbury, ROH.


Tom has also performed leading and supporting roles in other West End shows, including three of the most famous musicals ever written - THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, LES MISERABLES, and CHICAGO, THE MUSICAL as well as starring opposite Tommy Steele in the London Palladium cast of SCROOGE and headlining GLAMOROUS NIGHTS, THE IVOR NOVELLO CELEBRATION at the Novello Theatre.


Other theatre includes leading roles in: WEST SIDE STORY (Dublin); INTO THE WOODS (Derby); SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM (Stevenage); and the world premieres of BUSQUEDA (Cambridge) and ONLY THE BRAVE (Edinburgh).  


In 2005 he was the Winner of the International BBC competition, The Voice of Musical Theatre, which has led to many appearances on BBC Radio 2’s Friday Night is Music Night, and with orchestras, including the BBC Concert Orchestra, Sinfonia Britannica, and Manchester Camerata.


Recordings include: ONLY THE BRAVE, the world premiere cast recording; SCROOGE THE MUSICAL, The London Palladium cast recording; guest artist on Robyn North’s album, MAKE BELIEVE, and the release of the single, SEE THE LIGHT, from the musical, ALL 4 ONE. Tom has also released his own piano/vocal album, MORE THAN THIS, which includes the songs, You Raise Me Up and The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.
